Parent and Youth Information
Youth Ministry
Youth are called by the Holy Spirit through the word and sacrament to full partnership in the community of Faith, and challenged to full participation in the life and mission of Christ and His church. This means:
- Youth ministries are centered in baptism, the proclamation and study of the word, and participation in the Lord’s Supper.
- Youth are the church of today as well as the church of the future
- Youth ministries are by, with and for youth
- Youth are to share in shaping the church’s response to the gospel in both its theology and mission in the world.
- Youth Ministries are integrated with and not separated from the mainstream of the church’s life and mission
Youth are people from an early adolescent years through the young adult years. Youth ministries are youth and adults working together that youth might grow and participate in theory baptismal relationship with their Lord, themselves, and the world through the means of grace and the congregation’s ministries of proclamation, teaching, worship, community, witness and service.

T.U.F. (Tuned Up Faith)
Wednesday Nights 6:30-8:00 p.m.
T.U.F. is a program designed for 6th-8th grades. The evening includes fun, fellowship, interactive Bible studies, community dynamics and a pizza dinner. Once a month the youth have a chance to serve at the Samaritan House Soup Kitchen in Long Beach. Throughout the year there are a variety of events and retreats that the youth can participate in. Some of these events include a Synod Youth Gathering, a winter retreat and a summer Bible camp. It is a great group for young people to come, have fun and grow in their relationship with God and with others.

Xtreme
Sunday Nights 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Our Xtreme group is offered to 9th – 12th grades. The evening is full of fun, fellowship, interactive Bible studies and discussions, community dynamics and pizza.
This group is very active in the church and community. They participate in youth led worship services, the 30- hour famine, serving at various soup kitchens and more. Throughout the year we plan monthly social events where all are welcomed to participate. During the year the young people also have the opportunity to participate in Fall/Winter retreats, a spring mission trip and summer camps including house boating, National Youth Gatherings and whatever else we decide to do. It is a great group for anyone who loves God, adventure and inspiring friendships.
