OWLs
Older Wiser Lutherans (Ages 65+)
The OWLs program focuses on the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of persons 65+ years of age. We offer a variety of events to meet the need for fellowship, growth. Monthly luncheons and speakers are geared to a specific topic relevant to this age group. They vary from the very serious to the very lighthearted. Dinner out combined with local cultural events and one-day excursions provide opportunities to get to know one another better. If you are a friend of one of our members, or part of our neighborhood, please know you are more than welcome to attend any event which may be of interest to you. Call the church office at least one week prior to the event. When a cost is involved, checks should be made out to Ascension Lutheran Church and earmarked “OWLs-(month of the event). These should be mailed or hand-delivered to the church a week prior to the event. For information call Faye Schwartz, Carolyn Luetje or the church office. |

Boomers
A new group has jumped onto the scene! (Ages 45-64)
The Boomers program focuses on outreach, fellowship and learning. We offer a variety of events to meet each of these needs. Frequent gatherings are geared toward opportunities which are mission, friendship, and Bible study oriented. Please see our Upcoming Events page for details. If you are a friend of one of our members, or part of our neighborhood, please know you are more than welcome to attend any event which may be of interest to you. The Good Grief Girls
An on-going ministry for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Caring people, who have made the journey you are now on, are available for immediate support. Meet for lunch and conversation on the 2nd Thursday of each month. For information call the pastor. (1-310-373-0454)

Adult Bible Study
Pastor Stephen Lien is offering a Bible Study in the Hillside Room on Wednesdays evenings - see calendar page for times and dates. All are welcome to attend. Bring your friends. Child care is available upon prior request.
Walking Thru the Bible - 60 Essential Bible Stories We read and study the 60 most essential Bible stories. You may attend every study, or you may pick and chose. All are welcome to attend. Bring a friend. We meet the 2nd Sunday of every month, except Easter Sunday. Each study will look at the Bible in the historical context, and then relate the story to today’s current life applications. Presented by Wayne Hall. See Upcoming Events page for time and date.
