Extended Day Care (Stay and Play)
All children age 3-5 who are currently enrolled at Ascension or who have left Ascension to attend Kindergarten and have not yet turned 6 years old may stay and play until 3:00 pm each day. Children in the Toddler class may begin this program in the Spring with the approval of the Toddler teacher and the Director. Toddlers must be potty trained and be able to follow direction and play independently in a large group of children.
Procedure: Parents must sign the “Stay and Play” sheet when they bring their child to school at 9:00 am, or call the office by 9:30 am. The children eat a lunch they have brought from home. Juice, milk or water will be provided, if needed. Nutritious lunches are encouraged. Sweets should be omitted and fruit should be substituted. Candies will be returned home – they are not appropriate for school lunch. NO NUTS - We are a nut-free campus, due to the increasing number of children with allergies.
Fees:Stay and Play is available only on an hourly basis and it is staffed accordingly. In addition to Ascension Lutheran Church Preschool’s morning programs and Stay and Play, the following is offered: Hotshots Gymnastics Classes: Offered in approximately 10 week sessions throughout the school year during the afternoons in conjunction with our Stay and Play Program. Spanish Class: Offered twice a week in the afternoon.
Early Bird: Before school care is offered between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Sign-ups are necessary at least one school day prior to the day requested. |
