Ascension Launches Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry creates beautiful shawls made by members and friends of Ascension Lutheran Church.  The shawl is meant to symbolize the love and embrace of God.  Each shawl has been lovingly made and prayed over, and those who receive the shawls continue to be held in prayer.

The shawls are intended for individuals facing challenges, needing comfort or healing, or celebrating special events in their lives.  If you know of someone in need, you are welcome to take a shawl.

If you would like to knit or crochet a shawl for the ministry, please contact the church office or Karyn Luetje at 310-373-0454. The shawls will be located in the Social Hall.

Mexican Orphanages - For trips, see upcoming events.

Corazon de Vida (Heart of Life) was formed in 1994 to raise funds and support the orphaned children of Baja, California, Mexico. Without funds for housing food or social programs for orphaned, homeless and abandoned children, Mexico is not able to provide a future for these children in need. CDV coordinates corporate, community and volunteer support to provide funds, volunteer help and a caring hand o the children of Baja. For more information:
